Now you’re ready to get the right loan for you. Because you understood your options, on your time, at your pace and in your place, you can save $1,000 you didn’t know you were going to lose in hidden dealer loan fees and markups. Congratulations!

You can get your loan with your local credit union or bank, a lender you already have a relationship with, or one you find online. Just remember, if you go to the dealership without your loan in place, you are leaving yourself vulnerable. When you think about car loans think ‘Outside’ the dealership.

Here’s what you’ll need to be approved for a loan:

  • Driver’s license or other form of government ID

  • Your social security number

  • Proof of address like a recent bank statement or utility bill

  • Bank statement

  • Paystub

  • VIN number of the vehicle you are purchasing

  • Co-borrower info, if applicable: same as above

Each lender has a different application process, so be sure to check with your lender first.
